Sure, 2016 was sort of crapsack, and the prospects for 2017 aren't good, but that doesn't mean we can no longer have fun, and if we have some self-confidence we can still march on into January with some degree of enthusiasm. Have a great New Year's Eve, everyone!
Currently open for commissions, $25 paypal (up front) for a regular size map and short writeup, negotiable for larger projects.
Once I finish a couple commissions I have, I'd like to do a few maps which are not commissions (pressures gettin' to me, man... Crazy  ) or covers. So, I am throwing the floor open to suggestions: alternate history ideas and scenarios (as much or as little detail as you prefer), future maps, or even fantasy maps as long as they don't require me to create detailed basemaps from scratch (all those fractal little coastlines, brrr....)

thanks in advance!
After a long rant about how Japan was so going to unconditionally surrender but Truman nuked them anyway, in which he calls me racist for doubting his "facts", a commenter on my "Fascist Australia" scenario flounced off back to paranoia-land, blocking me from responding so he could get in the last word.

Is there some way to block comments from certain people so I can keep this stuff short? Or do I have to shut down comments altogether?
Hmm. No comments on the new map. Is it a dull map? Am I no longer "hot" on Deviantart? :) Or have I simply produced a map so densely annotated that there simply are no questions to be asked?

Edit - so it is I simply produced a map so densely annotated that there simply are no questions to be asked

Guess I shall have to make my maps more obscure in the future! :D
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, joyous Festivus, etc. to those who have a different celebration, and as for those who don't celebrate at all, look out for didactic ghosts.

And happy new year to all!
Putting up some older maps, originals and covers of other people's work, for completeness's sake. Sorry about the iffy quality or lack of long blab in many cases.
2,224 comments? Really need to take some time to delete the older ones - or is there a way to quickly dump stuff over, say, a year old?
Just putting up some odds and ends. First a few ASB written drabbles.
...for a while. Currently I have started doing some volunteer work at the local library, spring gardening chores compel, and I am without a car for a while, so getting anywhere takes a lot longer. As a result, at the end of the day I am a little short on time. So any new additions will be mostly old stuff for perhaps the next month.
"There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea is asleep and the rivers dream; people made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on, Ace, we've got work to do."

Love that quote. Any places on the internet where one can watch post-reboot episodes either free or cheap?
It seems there are a fair number of old maps I haven't put up for one reason or another: I'll be putting them up (along with a couple new things) over the next 2-3 days, so STUFF on the way.
Actually, there is no evidence that pagan-era Norse made maps at all, come to think of it.

How about a map of a mash-up of these two TLs?  quantumbranching.deviantart.co… and quantumbranching.deviantart.co…

Puritans vs. Mughals...
You know, I am overreacting to the trolls on my "Progress Comes to Midgard" scenario, and I apologize for making a spectacle of myself. This is the internet: I need to grow a thicker skin.
OK, some good ideas in there. I will be using some of them later. For now, while I'm getting some other projects done, I'm going to put up some of my older stuff and some of the "non-original" maps I have been doing lately. Oh, and a map of an alt-early medieval Europe I did for someone...
I'm having trouble again coming up with ideas for original maps. Any suggestions?
And I'm baaack.

Been gone a few days, will be posting again in a few more: internet has been unavailable due to move, and _hopefully_ will be back friday night, depending on how sluggish the local internet company is.

(This is posted at the library).

Is anyone else having trouble submitting stuff to Deviantart? I was trying to put something up and it was stalling out when I tried to save and submit.

PS - OK, managed to do it on google chrome. Just confirms what I've already suspected, my internet explorer has been stricken by some sort of bug.
Feeling better: will put up a couple maps. My two remaining dogs are trying to rework the pecking order. Oh joy.
