The Mandarin Victorious by QuantumBranching The Mandarin Victorious by QuantumBranching
A bit of sillyness.

China, some six years since the Breaker of Warlords, the Exterminator of Soviet Pawns, the Expeller of Barbarian invaders (and was that plague a fortuitous coincidence or not? some people are suspicious), the President-for-Life of the Chinese Republic, having brought peace and order back to the Middle Kingdom, had himself crowned Emperor Fu Mingzhe, first Emperor of the new Liang Dynasty. Protests and revolts against this were crushed with impressive swiftness. As of 1955, the new Emperor remains remarkably hale and hardy for a man supposedly well into his 90s, but there are rumors that he has been grooming his rather terrifying granddaughter for the succession...

China is at peace. It's neighbors, perhaps not so much.

Brill map, and there was a guy who tried to have himself made emperor after the first Republic - Yuan Shikai, I have some of the silver dollars he produced with him on the back, but that's as far as he got in his ambition.

Spotted the great ref to Fu Manchu a.k.a the Devil Doctor, but how does Japan end up a republic or Manchuria end up independent?

It seems Korea traded Liancourt for Tsushima.

Details, details. [1] They so often get past me. :(

[1] Although in your case I suppose it would be like a map giving Hawaii to China...

lol I suppose so with me being pretty nationalistic. Liancourt I wouldn't have said anything about since I am not much about debating that with people, but the part with Tsushima was a bit humorous. Wasn't sure if it was done on purpose or was an accident.
