Kaiserreich

Okay, a take on the popular Kaiserreich game setting. I have made a few modifications here and there - I'm assuming that Britain goes Fascist Lite after the war, which radicalizes the Left, but full blown revolution doesn't break out until the economy tanks in the late 20s, after the government rather overreacts to understandable discontent and protest. (French communist takeover unlikely, French and British takeover very unlikely, so I need to give the British more incentive) So I've pushed the date up to 1939, to give the British Revolution some more time to settle in.

The US revolution - well, I've assumed a butteflying of Roosevelt's career so he doesn't make it as a candidate in '32, so things can get properly grim by '36. I then assume a political understanding between Roosevelt
's democrats and John Reed's Marxist/Syndicalist/Socialist union, because he's not an idiot and realizes that in a showdown with the far-right Unionists, the rump Republicans, and the Democrats, his gang will be trampled underfoot. Of course, the Unionists and Republicans (and some conservative Democrats) are not happy at all, and after a narrower win than OTL '32, there is an attempt to prevent the new President from being officially inaugurated, and things go downhill from there...

I am also assuming that the US and Japan won't stand still and let Germany grab _all_ the goodies when England falls to revolution, and that Russia hasn't fallen into revolution yet (it complicates things, and anyway I have sympathy for the poor abused Russians). And there are a few other changes here and there which the well-informed reader will spot.

In any event, it is 1939, war was coming, and a new wave of Left-wing revolution threatens...

The Central Powers winning would have been better. It would have meant no Treaty of Versailles, which would mean Hitler never comes to power. Germany might have also been able to help the Whites win the Russian Civil War, meaning Stalin’s reign of terror never happens.
